Shekhinah in the Archives

Title

Shekhinah in the Archives

Text

As the divine feminine presence, the Shekhinah fills many spaces and inhabits many forms within the Jewish tradition. She remains both within and without–manifesting through our lives and the lives of those around us. This exhibit, Shekinah in the Archives, aims to illuminate the Shekhinah through the lives of four of our donors: Rivkah Walton, Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Rabbi Leah Novick, and Chava Weissler. Not only do these individuals fulfill many roles within the space of the Shekhinah but their interconnectedness to one another is an embodiment of her spirit. Created with materials from the Post-Holocaust American Judaism Collections in the University of Colorado Special Collections and Archives, this exhibit displaying the legacy, profundity, and complexity of our four donors was created to complement Embodied Judaism: She on display on the second floor of Norlin Library.
